High School Music Meme

So, there's this high school music meme going around. Thing is, I didn't listen to the radio at all during high school, except for the occasional non-televised football game. The only up-to-date stuff I can remember intentionally listening to in that period is Run DMC, Weird Al, the Phantom of the Opera London Cast album, and maybe the odd soundtrack. My only other significant exposure to popular music would have been in the locker room (mostly old AC/DC and the like, as I recall), and dances (which tended to play music that was slightly older).

Which is a long way of saying, I don't remember squat in the way of hits from the year I graduated. For the record, here are the songs I recognize:

35. Hazy Shade Of Winter, Bangles
37. Don't Worry, Be Happy, Bobby McFerrin
39. Red Red Wine, UB40
42. Kokomo, Beach Boys
49. The Loco-Motion, Kylie Minogue

Of those, I think I only actually ran into two during that year -- #37, which I despised, and #42, which I loved. #35 and #49 are covers; I don't really know that I know those particular versions (I know they're not the ones I've heard the most), but if we're talking the song in general, I love #35, and #49 is a good fun song. #39 I only know because my wife has been singing it on Karaoke Revolution, and I'm not particularly fond of it, but I don't hate, either.
